Dipylon, a nonprofit society for the study of ancient topography is launching a new seminar entitled “Spatial Image Analysis” under the auspices of the Greek chapter of the international nonprofit organization “Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology” (CAA-GR), with the support of the Laboratory of Geophysics Satellite Remote Sensing & Archaeo-Environment of the Institute of Mediterranean Studies. This workshop is an introduction to Spatial Image Analytics and its main goal is to familiarise participants with the basic terms, concepts and methods used throughout the process of performing this analysis. More specifically, this seminar is of interest to a variety of digital humanities students, scholars and professionals who work with images (emphasis is placed on History, Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Management).
