a.r.t.e.s. EUmanities is a pioneering programme for a European Graduate School for the Humanities, co-funded by the European Union and the University of Cologne in the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (Horizon 2020: MSCA).
Designed to meet the needs of each individual Early Stage Researcher (ESR) in the Humanities, beginning in April 2017 a.r.t.e.s. EUmanities will provide places for up to 10 ESRs every year for 3 years, training young scholars to excel in research and cope with the global challenges Europe is facing.
ESR positions will have a duration of 36 months per person. The ESRs will be employed full-time by the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School (living allowance EUR 3,073 gross plus mobility, travel and family allowances). The employment conditions include social benefit payments such as health insurance, unemployment insurance, pension contributions and parental benefits.
