The Second “Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology” (CAA-GR 2016) conference will be held at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens on Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 December 2016. A workshop (theme to be confirmed) is scheduled on Monday 19 December 2016.
The organizing committee of CAA-GR 2016 will soon invite contributions that fall within the following research areas:
- Field prospection and recording methods for excavation and laboratory work
- Data modeling, management and integration
- Linked data and the semantic web
- Data analysis and visualization
- 3D modeling, virtual reality and simulations
- Geomatics, aerial photography and remote sensing
- GIS applications in a historical context
- Digital data long-term preservation and re-use
- Users and interfaces: education, museums and multimedia
- Theoretical issues on computer applications in Archaeology and the Humanities
- Digital Humanities and Social Media
- Digital Cities, cultural heritage management and protection
- Crowdsourcing for Humanities Research
The conference proceedings will be published in the form of e-publication (with ISBN) and will become available on-line through our web-site soon after the end of the conference.
The call for papers and additional information on CAA GR 2016 will be published on the conference website in April 2016.
