The 4th CAA-GR conference ‘Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology, Greece’ will be held at N.C.S.R. “Demokritos” on 1st and 2nd October 2020.
The CAA-GR is the Greek Chapter of the CAA (caa-international.org). General scope of CAA conferences is to bring together archaeologists, mathematicians and computer scientists in order to encourage communication between these disciplines, to provide a survey of present work in the field and to stimulate discussion and future progress.
The CAA-GR conference is a biennial meeting with focus on research in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Former meetings have been organized in Rethymno (2014), Athens (2016) and Limassol (2018). The proceedings have been published in digital form and can be accessed via the CAA-GR web page. The CAA-GR 2020 will be jointly organised by the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications at N.C.S.R. “Demokritos”. The focus of this year’s conference will be on ‘Big Data in Archaeology’. In the framework of the conference a one-day workshop on ‘Management and evaluation of Big Data‘ will be organised.
