2nd CAA GR Conference – Call for PapersAthens, 20-21 December 2016 The Call for Papers & Posters has been extended!New submission deadline: 18 September 2016 The Second CAA-GR conference will be held at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, on Tuesday 20th Wednesday 21st December 2016. The CAA GR 2016 organizing committee invites abstracts for papers and/or posters relating to all aspects of computer applications, quantitative methods and digital applications in the archaeology and in cultural heritage of Greece and Cyprus. It is also possible to submit abstracts for related research in neighboring areas. The official languages of the conference are Greek and English. The main themes of the conference include: 1.Field prospection and recording methods for excavation and laboratory work2.Data modeling, management and integration3.Linked data and the semantic web4.Data analysis and visualization5.3D modeling, virtual reality and simulations6.Geomatics, aerial photography and remote sensing7.GIS applications in a historical context8.Digital data long-term preservation and re-use9.Users and interfaces: education, museums and multimedia10.Theoretical issues on computer applications in Archaeology and the Humanities11.Digital Humanities and Social Media12.Digital Cities, cultural heritage management and protection13.Crowdsourcing for Humanities Research Abstracts on other themes may also be submitted.
